The Fairfax Park Advisory Board also known as FPAB works with center visitors, the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks and Los Angeles City Officials to provide guidance and stewardship for the Fairfax Senior Center
We strive to:
➢ Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors at the center
➢ Ensure safe ingress and egress for the elderly and/or disabled at the center
➢ Ensure that everyone is given the courtesy of respect and kindness.
➢ Offer candid and thoughtful guidance on matters related to the center
➢ Help create Senior Citizen Educational Events and Party Events
➢ Help create field trips to cultural destinations around Los Angeles County
➢ Help the Senior Citizens and Community Members in the Fairfax District Smile
Our Park Advisory Board helps the Fairfax Senior Citizens Center Director find fun events for senior citizens to do in the Fairfax District. The Fairfax PAB does not have any authority over the Center Director, RAP Staff or LA City. The Fairfax PAB is an advisory board only. The board is open to public membership. If you would like to be a member of the Fairfax PAB, please submit a Member Interest Form to the Center Director. You do not need to be a Fairfax PAB member to volunteer and help at the center. The center is always looking for local citizens to help lead classes or to help with events at the Fairfax Senior Citizens Center. Please sign up to be a volunteer and help make the center a fun, great place for the older Adults in the area.
Our Public Meetings are held at the Fairfax Senior Citizens Center, located at:

Park Advisory Board meetings are governed by the Ralph M. Brown Act and are required to be open to the public and include an allotted time for public comments. The Brown Act established rules to ensure that all actions taken by boards, commissions, councils, and other public bodies of local agencies are provided public access and input. Robert's Rules of Order are used to keep the appropriate channels of communication open and to keep the meeting discussion moving forward. These rules help ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be heard and that no one person or group dominates the discussion.
The public is invited to attend all FPAB meetings. Those wanting to speak may address the FPAB on an agenda item at the designated time selected by the FPAB, but prior to the FPAB taking an action on that item. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, for a maximum of 20 minutes total for public comment, unless the presiding officer of the FPAB announces a change. A member of the public can not yield their time to another member of the public. General Public comments can be made during the Public Comments Period and will be limited to 2 minutes per speaker unless the presiding officer allows additional minutes. General Public comment speakers may not yield or cede their time to another member of the general public.
